The Activities of the “Committee of December 6, 1826” as an Attempt to Reform the Governing Senate in the Russian Empire
Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the "Committee of December 6, 1826" in the context of the reform of the public administration system in the Russian Empire. The reasons for the creation of the Committee, its goals, the main stages of its work and the proposed reforms are considered, in particular, the division of the functions of the Governing Senate into administrative and judicial. The work uses historical-comparative and historical-systematic methods, as well as an analysis of archival materials and regulatory legal acts. The author concludes that, despite the partial implementation of the Committee's proposals, its activities had a significant impact on the further development of the Russian state apparatus.
