The Issue of Gender Equality in Afghanistan in the Context of 2021 Developments
Abstract
The article examines the peculiarities of the situation of Afghan women in the context of the change of political regimes after the coming to power of the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation). The article examines the peculiarities of the situation of Afghan women in the context of the change of political regimes after the coming to power of the Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation). In the course of the analysis of the normative provisions of state law, which are contrary to international norms and ideas about women’s rights, an assessment is made of the current processes in the field of gender equality in Afghanistan. It also analyzes the activities of international organizations to promote gender equality practices in Afghanistan and the UN measures to protect women in the country. The analysis of the activities of international structures to promote gender equality practices in Afghanistan and the measures taken by the UN to protect women’s rights in the country, for example, the UN Women structure, the UN Development Program and the UNECE Gender and Economy Program, is carried out.
